When you use the food scanning feature, we capture photos of your food. These images are sent to Google Gemini AI for analysis and are not stored on our servers after processing.

Account Information

If you create an account, we collect your phone number for authentication purposes via Firebase Authentication.

Meal Data

Your logged meals, nutrition data, and preferences are stored locally on your device and can be synced to our backend server for backup purposes if you have an active subscription.

To provide AI-powered food recognition and nutrition analysis
To maintain your meal history and streak tracking
To process subscription payments via UPI
To send notifications about meal reminders
To improve our AI food recognition accuracy

3. Data Storage

Your data is stored in the following ways:

Local Storage: Meal logs, preferences, and settings are stored locally on your device
Cloud Backup: With your consent, meal data is synced to our secure backend server
Firebase: Authentication data is handled by Firebase (Google)
Photos: Food images are sent to Google Gemini AI for analysis and are not retained

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

Google Firebase – Authentication and cloud services
Google Gemini AI – Food recognition and nutrition analysis
UPI Apps (GPay, PhonePe, Paytm) – Subscription payment processing

5. Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures including encryption in transit (HTTPS) and secure storage practices. However, no method of electronic storage is 100% secure.

Access your personal data stored in the app
Delete your account and associated data
Opt out of data collection by uninstalling the app
Request deletion of cloud-synced data

MacroSnap is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
